Art Show
Our
Deerhounds invoke many things within us and if they have stirred the creative
muse within you, why not bring your creations to the Basin Harbor Club for our
Arts & Crafts Exhibition and Competition? Let your Deerhounds be proud of you as
much as you are proud of them!!!
In keeping
with tradition, there will be a serious and humorous class for each of the
categories:
Photography, Computer Art
and the
following in any media:
Drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and textiles.
In all
classes and categories, the subject matter must involve Deerhounds, and
submissions should be the creation of the person entering them. There will be
rosettes and small prizes awarded in each category as well as a best in
exhibition winner, with the winners being determined by popular vote.
There will
be a lockable room for the secure display of entries. Contestants are
responsible for setting up their own displays. Photographs, paintings, and other
flat items should be framed or mounted and displayed using tabletop easels.

unable to attend the specialty but wish to enter please ship your items to

and Pam Jacobs, 1 Collins Farm Road,
Newburyport, Ma. 01950.
Items should arrive no later than May 7th, 2010. Please make a note on the
entry
tag if the item is to be shipped back to you and please give a return address.
Each entry should have the label below attached (see below). Besides providing information
about class and category, the label also indicates if the item is for sale or is
to be donated to the auction. Please remember that 30% of the price on any item
sold will go to the Club.

But Wait! There's More!
In
addition to the traditional categories listed above, which will be displayed at
the show, we will also have a video category that will be an Internet affair
only. So if you want to cast your Deerhound as Roswell and act out scenes from
the Talisman, or just post that clip of your puppy shredding the couch, go
ahead! The viewer rankings as of May 7, 2010 will determine the winner here.
Sorry no prizes for this one, other than perhaps worldwide acclaim. There is a
dedicated SDCA 2010 Art Show YouTube account where videos can be posted and
seen.
